Day6 Members: South Korea's Rockers
The 2012 SBS K-pop star competition contained so many strong candidates that JYP Entertainment decided to create a 5-man group to tap into the Korean rock market. Originally named 5LIVE the band developed a strong reputation for their music but fans disliked the name as it was so close to Maroon 5.
The inevitable name change was made and the current Day6 members are Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon. Former member Junhyeok left the band in 2016 for personal reasons. In 2015, Day6 released a debut mini-album The Day alongside a lead single "Congratulations" and its accompanying music video. This was accompanied by the announcement of their first concert which incredibly sold out in 5 minutes!
