The Chile National Football Team was founded in the late nineteenth century and is one of the four original member nations of the South American football federation. They were one of the first four competitors of the Copa América that took place in 1916, and, thanks to players like Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Claudio Bravo and Eduardo Vargas, have won South America's most important football tournament twice, in 2015 and again in 2016. Chile play their home football matches at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, located in the Ñuñoa district of the Chilean capital, Santiago. This is the largest stadium in the country and has a capacity of nearly 50,000 (although the record attendance at Chile's national stadium was over 85,000). The stadium is based on Berlin's iconic Olympic Stadium and was built in the 1930s.
