Carly’s story
Carly Rae Jepsen is a songwriter, singer and actress from Canada. She started sharing her music prowess with the world as a teen performing musicals in high school. Years later she came in third place on "Canadian Idol". "Tug of War", her first album, was released in Canada and was mostly folk-pop. But it wouldn’t be until four years later that she put herself on the global music radar with her number one single, "Call Me Maybe". It reached No. 1 in eighteen countries! Her second album, "Kiss", charted in the Top 10 in the US and Canada. "Emotion" was her third album, released in 2015, which allowed Jepsen to stray from her bubblegum pop beginnings and incorporate some 80s synth and dance pop influence into the album. "I Really Like You" peaked at No. 14 on the Canadian Hot 100. By then, Jepsen had sold over 25 million records around the world. In 2019 she released her fourth studio album, "Dedicated". Jepsen has won critical acclaim and many awards, including a Billboard Music Award, a Juno Award and an Allan Slaight Award. She has also been nominated for Grammys, Emmys and many more. Jepsen has also kept her love for the musical stage alive in her heart: she has appeared as Cinderella on the Broadway stage, and also starred in the animated film "Ballerina" (or "Leap!" in the United States).
